For SEO teams

An AI detector for SEO and content teams

IsThisAiWritten is a free AI detector for SEO and content teams who review freelance articles, briefs and landing pages. There are no credits or seat licences to manage, long pages go in whole, and drafts under NDA stay in your browser. Paste a draft below, and use the result to ask writers better questions rather than as an automatic pass or fail.

Free, no sign-up, no word limit. The check runs in your browser; your text is never uploaded.

Pillar pages and long guides in one check

Pillar pages and long guides are no problem for length. There is no word or character limit, so a 6,000-word guide goes in whole, and the sentence map shows whether the higher-scoring passages cluster in one section, such as an introduction or an FAQ block.

Using an AI detector for SEO content reviews: a workflow

  1. Agree an AI policy with writers up front, in the brief or contract: what's allowed, and what must be disclosed.
  2. When a draft comes in, paste the full article into the box above. Long pages don't need splitting.
  3. Check the invisible-character panel first, and copy the cleaned text if it found zero-width characters or look-alike letters.
  4. Read the verdict and how sure the detector is about it. Download the result as JSON if you keep editorial records.
  5. For an AI or Mixed result, read the highest-scoring passages and ask the writer how those sections came together.
  6. Decide on quality and accuracy first. A well-sourced, useful piece is still that, whatever the score.

Search rankings and detector scores

This detector has no connection to any search engine. A score here doesn't predict how a page will rank. What an editor can judge directly is whether a page is accurate and genuinely helpful to the person searching. Use the detector as one input to that review and nothing more. The separate question of how Google treats AI content has its own article: does Google penalize AI content?

Hidden characters before you publish

Zero-width spaces and look-alike letters can arrive in copy pasted from chat tools, documents and content management systems. They're invisible on the page but can interfere with exact-match search and with readers copying your text. The report's cleaner shows where they are and gives you a cleaned copy. If you only need that step, the standalone invisible character remover does it without running a detection check.

Working fairly with freelancers

A detector flag on a freelancer's article is a reason to talk. It isn't grounds to withhold payment or end a contract. Share the result and ask how the piece was produced. Writers who keep drafts and research notes can usually show their process quickly. If your brief allows some AI assistance, say exactly which uses are fine, because a detector can't tell an agreed use of AI from one that wasn't. Our post on signs of AI writing covers editorial checks that don't depend on a score.

What a result means for content teams

Like any detector, it can be wrong in both directions, so treat a result as a reason to look closer, not as proof. The detector reads English only. What it offers a content team is unlimited length, no per-seat cost, privacy and an open methodology.

Questions

Can we check product descriptions and other short copy?

Under 50 words there is no result, and from 50 to 149 words confidence is always low. If one writer produced a set of descriptions, you can check them together for a firmer read, remembering that the result then covers the whole set.

Do we need a licence for each team member?

No. There are no accounts, seats or credits. Anyone on the team can open the page and check text.
