By using isthisaiwritten.com you agree to these terms. They are short because the service is simple: it is free, it runs in your browser, and we never receive the text you check.

1. The service

IsThisAiWritten provides a free tool that estimates whether a text was written by an AI system. The analysis runs on your device. We may change, pause or discontinue any part of the service at any time.

2. Results are estimates

Detection results are statistical estimates, not facts. They can be wrong in both directions: human writing can be flagged as AI, and AI writing can pass as human. Our measured error rates are published on the methodology page. You must not use a result as the sole basis for any decision that affects another person, such as a grade, a disciplinary step, an employment decision or a public accusation.

3. Your text

Text you paste or open stays on your device and is processed there. We do not receive, store or claim any rights in it. You are responsible for having the right to analyse the text you use.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use the service to break the law, to harass or defame anyone, or to try to disrupt the site. Automated, high-volume use that degrades the site for others is not allowed.

5. Third-party services

To run, the page downloads code from jsDelivr, the detection model from Hugging Face, and a public list of model names from OpenRouter. We use Google Analytics to count page views, and some articles show ads from Google AdSense. None of these requests contain your text. Their own terms apply to those services.

6. No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the extent permitted by law.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any decision made using a result from the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

8. Comparisons and trademarks

Product names mentioned on this site belong to their owners and are used only to identify those products. Comparisons describe publicly available information at the time of writing and may change. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by any company named here.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by Swiss law. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence still apply.

10. Advertising

Some articles and guides show ads served by Google AdSense. Ads are selected by Google and are not endorsements. We never show ads on pages where you paste text. How ads use cookies is described in our privacy policy and on our cookie page.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version.
